Nutsedge, Bermuda grass, and other tricky weeds
What to expect with nutsedge, wild violet, Bermuda grass, dallisgrass, and clover, and when to send us a photo.
- Clover: clears quickly with standard treatment.
- Nutsedge (sedge grass): grows fast and taller than your grass, and thrives in heat and rain. It's treatable, but often needs a targeted follow-up, which is exactly what our free service calls are for.
- Wild violet: one of the toughest. Targeted products, sometimes over more than one season.
- Bermuda grass (the "viney" one): actually a warm-season grass, not a weed we can spray out of a fescue lawn. It goes dormant in early November as fescue takes over, and the best long-term control is fall aeration & overseeding to thicken your fescue.
- Dallisgrass: may need a non-selective treatment timed close to fall aeration & seeding. We handle that; just ask.
